{"id":139,"date":"2015-12-04T11:20:02","date_gmt":"2015-12-04T16:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theofadel.com\/?p=139"},"modified":"2016-12-27T00:28:33","modified_gmt":"2016-12-27T05:28:33","slug":"delightful-strange-and-true","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theofadel.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/04\/delightful-strange-and-true\/","title":{"rendered":"Delightful, Strange and True"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 21st century &#8212; Meet Dr. Robert Fludd aka Robertus Fluctibus, the delightful gazillionth great Uncle of Theo Fadel.\u00a0 A physician and alchemist, in the year 1616 he was the first Englishman to comment on the Rosy Cross publications newly released in Germany.\u00a0 Theo has just illustrated a new edition of one of these, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/smallbeerpress.com\/not-a-journal\/2013\/11\/01\/john-crowley-the-chemical-wedding\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Chemical Wedding<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 This did not come to light until <em>after<\/em> Theo finished the illustrations and she has no idea why Dr. Fluctibus is trying so hard in this image NOT to make the Vulcan sign.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not so strange,&#8221;\u00a0 says Theo &#8220;They often throw me a bone like this from the far side.\u00a0 Also, I&#8217;m known as a joker, but this one seems to be true.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a lot of inbreeding and complex arrangements in European <em>an<\/em>cestry<em>,\u00a0<\/em> but as a child I did have<em> extra fangs<\/em> growing from the roof of my mouth.\u00a0 That alone confirms . . . a lot of things.
